Your house and garden belong to you, you create it, build it, tend it, and all the while gain great satisfaction from doing this yourself. In times past all 'Big Houses' had full time gardeners (often more than one) you were given board and lodgings and a respectable allowance for servicing the Lords garden.

Nowadays, our work is out there in the community. His Lordship long gone. Yet the principles are the same, we do the work for the equivalent remuneration. One would have to say that some of our gardening principles have come from those old days, where you knew you could do the work you love. Some of those estates were massive.
