This beautiful pedestrian mall stretches over three blocks of Beardy Street in the centre of Armidale. It features many locally owned and operated shops and cafés with outdoor eating areas. There are many original buildings of notable importance including Tattersalls Hotel, built in the Art Deco style during the 1930s, the Old Courthouse, Armidale Post Office, and the New England Hotel which is currently undergoing restoration. The Mall was opened in 1973 and was the first of its kind in regional Australia.
